Meal prep means cooking once and eating well for days. The best meal prep recipes taste just as good, or better, on day three as they did fresh: stews, soups, casseroles and anything that holds a sauce. The worst ones turn soggy, dry or rubbery in the fridge.
Meal prep is the heart of what our OurCheff private chefs do. We cook weekly meals for busy Southwest Florida families from Naples to Fort Myers, so we know exactly which dishes survive the fridge and the microwave. We favor braises that get better overnight, soups that store cleanly, and portable bites for lunchboxes. We also pack crispy or delicate parts separately so they stay fresh.
A recipe is CheffApproved for meal prep when it keeps at least three to four days in the fridge, reheats without losing texture or flavor, and includes clear storage and reheating notes. Start with our AIP Beef and Butternut Squash Stew, Keto Cottage Pie, Lemony Chicken Orzo Soup or Hidden-Veggie Turkey Meatloaf Muffins.
Frequently asked questions
How long do these keep?
Most keep three to four days in airtight containers in the fridge. Each recipe has its own storage notes.
Can I freeze them?
The stew, cottage pie and meatloaf muffins freeze well for up to two months. For soups with pasta, freeze the soup without it and cook the pasta fresh.
What containers do you use?
Our chefs like glass containers with tight lids. They reheat evenly and don’t hold on to smells.
What’s the best way to reheat?
Gently. Use a covered pot on the stove or the microwave at medium power, adding a splash of broth to soups and stews.
