Paleo / Whole30

Paleo and Whole30 are close cousins. Both center on meat, seafood, eggs, vegetables, fruit, nuts and healthy fats, and both leave out grains, legumes (beans, peanuts, soy), dairy and refined sugar. Whole30 is a stricter 30-day reset that also excludes all added sugar, including honey and maple syrup, and alcohol.

Our OurCheff private chefs cook this way for Southwest Florida clients all the time, and it overlaps a lot with the AIP cooking we already do. The secret is treating vegetables and roasted roots as the stars rather than as side dishes, and building sauces from reduced broth, garlic, herbs, citrus, vinegar and good oil. Sweet potato and butternut squash bring the comfort that bread and pasta usually would.

A recipe is CheffApproved paleo / Whole30 when it contains no grains, legumes, dairy or added sugar, and it’s still a dinner you’d happily serve guests. Start with our Sheet-Pan Pork Tenderloin with Apples and Sweet Potatoes, AIP Beef and Butternut Squash Stew or Egg-Free AIP Salmon Cakes.

Frequently asked questions

Are all AIP recipes paleo?
Generally, yes. AIP is stricter than paleo, so an AIP recipe usually fits paleo and Whole30 too.

What should I check on labels?
Broth, bacon, sausage and spice blends can hide sugar, soy or additives. Look for compliant labels.

Is coconut aminos allowed?
Yes. Coconut aminos is commonly used on both paleo and Whole30 in place of soy sauce.

Can the whole family eat these?
Absolutely. Serve rice or bread on the side for anyone not following the plan.
